Alison Littauer has been teaching Scripture Study for twenty years, since an extensive college tour of Greece and Israel immersed her in the world of the Old and New Testaments. She is a graduate of both Wheaton College in Bible and Communications (B.A., ‘80 magna cum laude), and of New York University in Philosophy and Religion (M.A., ‘83 summa cum laude).
A native of Augusta, Georgia, Alison has lived in Connecticut most of her married life (24 years). She and her husband Richard have three children, ages 23, 21, and 18. She has served on The Family Institute Board, the CT state arm of Focus on the Family, Int’l. for ten years., and she loves to travel and speak to women’s conferences all across the United States. She is a member of the Speakers Bureau of Vision New England (arm of the NAE). For many years, she served as a teaching director for two Community Bible Study classes, which chapters she founded, in both Hilton Head, SC and Orange, CT. Alison served as a Press Secretary to her home district Congressman in her year between college and graduate school.
From 1997-2004, Alison founded and taught an interdenominational Bible Study named “WOW—Women of the WORD,” that was comprised of over 200 women from more than 40 Hartford area churches. This study is currently on hiatus as Alison is pursuing her doctorate in Church History from Gordon Conwell Seminary outside of Boston, MA. She will finish in the spring of 2009, and currently calls Charlotte her home, where she teaches in the homeschooling community.
